Enjoying a Little Taste of Clearview

Celebrating local is something I love most. Add in a delicious meal and a few fun friends and that is my definition of a good time. Now that the fall season is in full swing, I find myself jumping at any opportunity to gather, dine, or explore locally before the snow falls and we cozy into winter.
Although a stone’s throw away from Collingwood, Clearview Township is one region that I haven’t fully tasted or investigated. It all stops now! I’ve partnered with Clearview Township to experience their Taste of Clearview event in the most LOKAL way. This means a full itinerary with multiple destinations + dishes on deck and a few pals to join in on the fun.
The Taste of Clearview event is a month-long celebration (October 15th – November 14th) of all things culinary and gives locals an excuse to get out and eat something yummy while continuing to support small businesses.
It could be touring over to a Clearview restaurant that you already adore or spinning the wheel and trying something new – but however you decide to experience this event, I’m sure you’ll find something to love.
HERE ARE MY LOKAL HIGHLIGHTS:
Lunch at La Cucina (Creemore) – Located in the heart of Downtown Creemore, this Italian eatery hit all the cravings. We enjoyed a few Creemore Springs pints (event partner), a Caesar salad, prosciutto + arugula pizza and a bowl of their fall-inspired butternut squash gnocchi. Everything was fresh, homemade and absolutely delicious.
Creemore Bakery (Creemore) – This bakery does not mess around. They make fresh brioche donuts every weekend and I’m here to say, YOU SHOULD GET SOME. A 6-pack of their brioche donuts are sure to make you feel a little giddy. I was nibbling on these into the late eve. Just one more bite I’d say. Donuts not your thing? I think one of their other house made treats will catch your eye.
The Bank Café (Creemore) – Known for their carrot cake and summer burger nights, this pitstop is a local fave. We grabbed a BLT to go (check out that stack!) and of course, you can’t forget the cowboy cookies. Best in the area!
Duntroon Highlands (Duntroon) – This spot isn’t just for golfers. It’s also for hikers, snowshoers and foodies! They’ve got a wicked patio that overlooks the back 9 and a selection of locally inspired café items including their club sandwich + delectable sweet potato crinkle fries. We paired this meal with a cider from Duntroon Cyder House (event partner). Patio open until October 31.
Miso Hot Sushi (Stayner) – Where are my sushi lovers at? Miso Hot is SO worth the drive to Stayner. The rolls are so darn fresh and absolutely delicious. It’s located off of main street which I guess takes hidden gem to the realest level.
Bakery by the Bay (Stayner) – Bakery by the Bay has the magic touch! This was my last Taste of Clearview and I went out with a bang. This local bakery offers everything from cookies, tarts, cupcakes, cinnamon buns, to carrot cake, brownies and haystacks. I’m pretty good at spotting a the perfect cookie and these were some of the best I’ve ever had. Chewy, flavourful, buttery, and just-right. 5-star review from Lokal Digs.
I’m constantly in awe at the talent and craft found within our region. It makes it easy to do what I do when there is just so much of it to discover. From one local lover to the next, I encourage you to enjoy a Taste of Clearview.
