Lokal Babes | Ace Hill Acres
Ace Hill Acres is a 25 acre farm in the Grey Highlands that specializes in pasture raised chickens. They are part of the ‘Artisanal Chicken Program’ administered by the Chicken Farmers of Ontario and well, are now parents to hundreds of chickens! Currently they raise White Rock and Broiler chickens and you can purchase direct from Calley and Sean through farm pick-ups, and deliveries to local hotspots and the GTA. They are the sweetest souls - so fun and excited about life.
When Calley’s not tending to the chickens you may find her baking cakes or chasing her dogs. It’s never a dull moment on the Ace Hill Acres Instagram page.
Did you know that we first met on Instagram? It’s like online dating in a way. You meet, have a bit of chat, toss a few likes and eventually (hopefully) you’ll meet and friendship sparks will fly. Fall of 2019 I ran into the pair at Gather Grocery and it was easier than squeeze cheese. Big fans of these humans.

Favourite pizza topping combo?
Sean: Bacon, garlic and onion with a dip-ity doo (aka garlic dipping sauce, lol)
Calley: Pepperoni, mushrooms, green peps and onion (basic.)
What do you love most about living in Grey County?
Honestly, the people. There are so many wonderful people we've have the privilege of meeting and now calling our friends!
What's a day in life look like?
3:30am - 4:00am - Sean gets up and drives to work in Toronto for 6am - but first, 45 alarms need to go off to get him up and moving
6:30am - Calley wakes up to Annie licking her face
6:45am - Morning chicken chores - refilling waterers and topping up feed while spending too much time watching them run around
7:30am - Dog walk/Geese chase (daily ritual with an Australian Shepherd)
8:00am - Calley starts her day job managing a remote team with lululemon. (yaaaaas black stretchy pants)
12:30pm - Lunch break - back in the barn checking on the chickens
4:00pm - Sean's usually getting back home from the city and Calley's wrapping up her day at work
6:00pm - Chow down dinner and maybe have a cheeky drink or two
7:30pm - Evening chicken chores - making sure all 1000 chickens are tucked in for a good nights sleep
8:00pm - Dive on the couch for a bit to catch some Netflix before we both pass out at 9pm

Favourite recipe to make using chicken?
We're all for beer can chicken - no fuss, no muss and we love barbecuing (spoiler alert - we're not chefs hahaha)
