Feel the Magic This Holiday Season at Blue Mountain

There is simply no better way to get in the spirit than a trip to the Blue Mountain Village for their one-kilometer, Holiday Magic winter stroll – especially you locals! Running through to December 25, there is still plenty of time to grab a hot beverage and explore the epic light installations, interactive mascots, and festive tunes that’ll probably get you grooving (It got me!).
To say the evening didn’t pan out exactly how I had envisioned would be an understatement. Snowflakes were lightly falling at a whimsical pace and the lights and garlands sparkled at every turn. The Blue Mountain Village is currently a giant snow globe and I am officially in the spirit.
There are tons of wonderful things to see and eat while strolling the cobblestone streets, let me tell you more!
FOR THE KID IN ALL OF US: Santa Clause can be spotted on Saturday’s from 1-4pm, spreading cheer around the Village loop in his horse drawn carriage and making dreams come true with photo ops at the Main Stage. Don’t forget to say hi to Jack Frost, too! He’s out there and he’s friendlier than you think.
FOR THE FOODIE: Warm up with a S’mores Hot Chocolate from Royal Majesty, a Crème Brule Latte from Starbucks or a round of mozzarella sticks from Firehall Pizza. The holiday trail provides the perfect excuse to eat, shop, admire and repeat. We have tested this method of enjoyment and can confirm its success.
FOR THE GIFT GIVER: With over 20 shops to browse, I doubt you’ll have trouble finding something great for those on your secret Santa list. Everything from beauty products, outdoor attire, and toys to decorative art, jewelry and chocolate apples – it checks all of the boxes.
FOR THE OUTDOOR LOVER: There’s nothing better than a cozy campfire with people in your bubble. If you’re lucky to grab a spot, the Mill Pond has been decked out with Muskoka chairs, fire pits, strung greenery and Edison lights. The crunchy crackle and burning embers quite naturally made us feel at home and warmed us up from head to toe.
As you wrap up your day of fun and the sky transitions to dusk, you’ll notice the holiday magic come to life. Interactive gazebos, lit up arches, sound sensitive displays, and the iconic 3D sign that reads BLUE are all things you can expect on your next visit. It’s a super cool experience!
Most of all, you’ll be leaving with memories of you and your loved ones taking advantage of all that is local this year. It’s more important now than it ever has been.
